The hotel is a moderately priced first class property in a triangle shaped historical landmark building (1909) with classical European charm. 133 rooms (incl. several large family rooms & view rooms) and two suites, with private bath/shower, color TV with cable service (incl. HBO), direct dial telephone with data port and voicemail, ironing board, hair dryer. All rooms were refurbished in 2001 and non-smoking rooms are available.
The Café-bistro is open for breakfast (continental and American buffet) and lunch, bar/lounge, and the popular Brazilian restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The hotel is within walking distance to the Cable Cars (5 minutes), Union Square, the Civic Center, and the Moscone Convention Center. Theaters, Chinatown and shopping are nearby. All public transportation is available in front of the hotel (Muni and BART subways, buses). Trams to Fisherman's Wharf and the Castro stop directly in front of the hotel.
