DirecTV and Dish Network, Satellite TV

Remember the Alamo! The most famous battle cry in American history echoed across the Texas countryside in 1836, rallying settlers in their valiant struggle for independence from Mexico. Their inspiration was a heroic band of soldiers who fought to the death to defend the city of San Antonio, and the site of their courageous stand was a small mission-turned-fort called the Alamo.

Take a trip back in time to the bloody showdown between Mexican dictator Santa Anna's 4,000-man army and 189 brave American volunteers led by the legendary Davey Crockett, William Barret Travis, and Jim Bowie. Drawing upon rare archival materials, eyewitness battle accounts and stirring re-enactments, this American Heritage presentation takes us inside the Alamo itself, where we relive the devastating battle and examine its lasting legacy.
